|
"As art, whose existence is defined by man’s need to cover basic functions, ceramics is documented as the most immediate art form of our everyday reality. Every reference and thought to the utilitarian object unfolds the pleats of our own history, stimulating the basic principles of our aesthetics". |

Technical Information |
|
George Vavatsis’ work, based on potter’s wheel, consists of utilitarian objects made of stoneware clay or porcelain and fired up to 1250°C in oxidised atmosphere. All glazes are friendly to use. Raku and smoke firing are applied to specific designs, which have been worked with terra sigillata, resist slips or glazes up to 950°C. |
